Day 1 - This wonderful tour begins when you arrive at Hillman, Michigan. A horse-drawn carriage takes you through the wooded resort, over a wooden bridge that crosses The Thunder Bay River as guides fill the ride with interesting stories, facts and history of Northern Michigan and the elk. The ride continues into the Preserve where you get an up-close look at the majestic bull elk. Make sure to bring your camera for this trip! Next stop is the charming Elk Antler Log Cabin filled with antiques, trophy mounts and a massive split stone fireplace. Sit back and enjoy as culinary artist Jan Matthias prepares your hearty gourmet 5-course dinner before you on antique wood cookstove. You will have the opportunity to sample up to seven local wines during dinner. After dinner it’s back aboard the carriages/sleighs for the return trip to your deluxe room.
Day 2 - Following breakfast we head to Mackinaw Island. We will board Shepler’s Ferry for a scenic ride to Mackinaw Island. Upon arrival on the Island, you will be taken on a carriage tour of the island that will end at the Grand Hotel where you will enjoy a fabulous lunch in the Grand Ballroom. After lunch take your time to look around the Grand Hotel, sit on the world famous front porch, see the view from the cupola or visit the gardens. Your lodging tonight is located on the Island at The Lake View Hotel. The night will be yours to explore as you wish following dinner.
Day 3 - After breakfast we will depart the hotel and Island and journey to Frankenmuth. Here you will enjoy lunch (on your own) at Zehnders and have time to shop at the famous Bronner’s Christmas Store before departing for home.
